Our monthly meeting was held on September 26 at Buddy Leonard’s shop. Work continued on the doors for the back shop addition. The South side frames were completed and mounted. The frames for the back were completed and will be mounted during the October 24 meeting. The last part of the project will be attaching the sheet metal to the frames and fashioning locking means to secure the doors.
We had several guests and two new members sign up. Drew Harrison from Metairie and Andrew Molaison from Hattiesburg. Andrew pitched in and helped with the door project. He is a manufacturers’ rep for farm equipment.
We had about 22 members in attendance. Iron in the Hat netted $60 for our Scholarship Fund.
Chuck asked for demonstrators for two events. The Boy Scouts Centennial Campout at the Avondale Scout Reservation near Clinton LA on October 23. It is one day and we must be on the grounds by 8:30am. Please advise Sid Gale if you can attend.
The 25th Anual Scottish Games and Celtic Festival will be held on November 13 and 14th at the Harrison County Fair Grounds. We will need demonstrators for one or both days. Overnight rooms may be available. Please advise Chuck if you can make this event.
