Whether due to rains or summer vacations, the July meeting brought out only 16 members. We did however welcome a new member, Robert Savio of Eunice, La. We thank him for coming such a long way to begin working with us.
There was no special demonstration but the outside forges were kept busy. Another fire pot was ground out to increase the air flow and a new leg made for the blowerstand.
Iron in the Hat was enhanced by the separate auction of a table made by Clay Spencer. The components were made at the time of his demonstration during a Conference some years ago. Buddy’s auction skills brought $125.00 for the piece.
Buddy advises that blacksmith coal is getting more difficult to obtain. You may want to stock up now especially at today’s price.
